Hello 2008

There was a small bug that I had to fix before 2008 data could be loaded.  The bug is fixed and 2008 data is now loaded.
In order to better track the progress of a bill, as well as your representative's votes on that bill, I've added a link to all votes on a given bill from the roll page.

For example, all the votes on the Department of State and Foreign Appropriations bill can be seen here.

I've added Cloture Votes as a vote group for the Senate.  Enjoy.

To better understand the cohorts and vote groups, listing of the individual members in each are available from the statistics pages.   When you go to an individual "Compare Voters" page, the name of the cohort is now a link.  If you click that link, you'll get a description of the cohort and a paginated list of cohort members.  Similarly, when you go to an "Analyze" or "Compare Votes" page, the name of the chosen vote group is now a link.  A list of votes included in that vote group is available by clicking that link.  A click on the roll will show detailed information about that vote.

The "list votes" link is gone from the Statistics Available list.  You may list all the votes for a given legislator by choosing the vote group "All House Votes" or "All Senate Votes", then clicking on the name of that vote group in the individual statistics page.
Welcome to CongressDB 0.1, the first public beta of CongressDB.  This blog will be used for news about site availability,  to discuss new features, and to discuss open-source journalism.
